you know, like god lives underwater? if you don't you should seriously find out.
anyhoot. yesterday, as i went a-romping with anothony in his hopes of buying a car, we stopped by amazonia. i've always seen the commercials for that, how they have a sale every friday night and whatnot, but i've never gone there. we were looking at the betas, and i found one who's orange and brown. this is apparently rare since, as anyone can see just looking at a selection of them, they're largely blue/purple/pink. they had some black and yellow ones, but as cool and rare as they may be, they just weren't as pretty as the one i had become attached to. i got him for $3.49 or something, named him crush (like the soda orange crush), and gave him to owen as another present.
i filled up one of my largest vases with 1.5 gallons of water so he'd have plenty of O2 for a while, and so he's right near the mouth so he can get some from the air (did you know they could do that?). i think i'm going to buy him a plant, too, if they're not too expensive. if nothing else i'll at least put flowers in there to make it prettier. the black pebbles with a few purple now and then contrast his colors nicely. his home is the bedroom, though, since tima was trying to climb into the vase to get him.
owen said crush was like our baby, but there's tima and beans, too. he's just the newest addition.
