saturday afternoon i helped owen clean. this is a monumental event, seeing as i never clean. i mean, he always does, so why should i bother? i know a decent person would, but we all know that's not exactly true about me.

anyway, the place looks a lot nicer now. he did most of the visible work, but i cleaned the bookshelves in the living room. they're filled with 100-year-old books and tiny toys, all of which were caked in dust. he can't stand to clean little things like this, whereas i was perfectly content planted in the living room floor watching paula dean and rubbing the nooks and crannies between the huge plastic spikes of my akira toys' hair. oh, i did clean the kitchen though. i <3 cleaning the kitchen.

now i'm really enjoying this cleanliness. last night we went to the happiest place on earth:

(that's actually a picture of the austin container store, mind you.)

we went searching for a box for all of our extra game controllers and shit that won't fit in the entertainment center. armed with the dimensions of our coffee table's shelf, we left with this for $30:

you can see this model comes equipped with a kitty's tail. ;)

friggin' score! oh...i forgot to mention it's packed full of stuff...

[lumberg]ummmm...yeahhhh...[/lumberg] that brought the total up to $86. >.< i pointed out, while the guy was ringing up all of those tiny rainbow boxes (which my earrings are now in), the container store is the physical manifestation of satan because i can't leave without spending a fortune. you know how satan's supposed to be very handsome and charismatic? chelsea's version of satan is an employee of the container store singing, "chelsea! 50% off!"

our previous trip to the container store, strangely enough, also cost $86. sadly, all we purchased was a trash can.

note the memorial to robert palmer on the fridge. it's been up since the day he died. rip, dude.

my mommy colored that dinosaur picture. :D you'll note all the cat food inside. i dropped a big cup of it earlier this morning. urgh.

saturday during our trip to lowe's (another happy place), we bought three new switch plates to replace the most noticeable ones: by the front door, bathroom, kitchen. in that order, here's the one in the foyer:

bathroom:

i like how the other room (with the tub & toilet) looks like a scary hole. you can also see where owen tore off some of the paint when he took the old switch plate off!

kitchen:

this one is gorgeous. it was also $15. i just stand and stare at its stainless steel splendor sometimes. <333 i know i could have used a flash, but the ambience in this picture is pretty. that thing hanging above it is an ocarina, by the way.

and now a random picture of myself and tima.

time for work. ;(

<3, chels
