12 greatest hits, patsy cline

poor elliot committed suicide the other day. :sigh: i feel your pain, little one.

i came in an hour early today so the day cashier could see his father-in-law in the hospital. quoth he: "good lord! thank god this is our last parent." haha. he's got patsy cline, john denver, simon and garfunkel, and brian setzer albums up here. i'll be rocking tonight.

last night (well, this morning around 4:00) i started making my new purse with the skeleton fabric like tima's bandana. the inside will have these pretty pink flowers; i like the contrast. i'm modelling it after my purple messanger bag. is that the right term? it's pretty large, large enough for a book or two and unfolded paper, and it has a large outer flap with pockets. it'll be purdy.

yesterday sucked. i curled up on the futon and listened to my favorite version of "closer" ("closer to god," the loud one where he leaves out "like an animal" til the end of the chorus and just yells "i wanna fuck!you!" etc.) and "heresy (blind)" and cried like the dumb ass i am. it was a good cry, too. i accidentally vocalized a couple yelps, but thankfully jennifer was at work. i moved to the chair in an attempt to stop crying and ended up staring into the carpet during "memorabilia" (which is seven minutes long). i'd say all together i spent a good 20 minutes in a psychotic state. it was really uncomfortable because i thought about cutting myself. thank the gods i don't know where my blades are. i thought about using a knife, but i promised i wouldn't. =/

i tried to make some cookies to distract myself, but something went horribly awry. :shudder: i went to thrift town and found a shirt with a paw print that says, "it's a cub thang. you wouldn't understand." i liked that it said "thang." i also found a "captain morgan for president in 2000" shirt and got it for jennifer. i then went to savers where i bought an old phone for the kitchen for $1.99, scatergories (!) for $1.99, a bag of toys including several pokmon for $1.49, and a papacito's shirt (texas [and atlanta] represent!) for 99 cents.

sufficiently cheered up, i went home and watched the end of the baseball game. i didn't know pudge played for the marlins now, but then again what do i know about sports? well, i knew enough to see pudge at bat and wonder why he's not a ranger anymore. i've got a keychain with a little toy him on it. i was very happy florida won because the yankees, like most things up north (do note i said most (: ) suck.

i went to the heb to get some eggs for a cake, and my checker was perturbed. one chick had 12 items instead of the 10 limit, then a girl wanted her change in quarters and dimes, so when i got up there i just smiled and said nothing. the sacker standing there with him asked me, "do you want your change in any certain way?"
" no, that's okay."
"hey, man, she said she wants her change in all pennies!"
checker: "pennies? i got her pennies right here..."

i baked a lemon cake, and i was mixing the cream cheese icing with pink sugar granule/sprinkle things around 1:00 a.m. when jennifer got home. i had wrapped her shirt in victoria secret paper then a page from the chronicle with the phantom of the opera ad and tied a bow around it from a piece of a wal-mart sack. (: i told her i put it on her bed, and i could hear her laughing from upstairs when she opened it. she (and her grandmother for that matter) drink captain morgan's rum like it's water, so i knew she'd like it. (:

well, that's all for now. i'm going to go back to patsy and cubis. or sewing. we'll see.

me: "it's only in pictures do i realize just how huge my lips are. they're so gross."
mom: "no they're not! people pay to have lips like yours."
doug, laughing incredulously: "no they don't."
<3, chels.

p.s. check it, i'm donating to charities. it's super lame and only $2 dollars a month for each of them, but it'll be for a year. every little bit helps, right? anyway, i'm getting hounded by one of the supervisors. "must have 100% participation!"

austin public library foundation: the austin public library is free! we provide access to books, programs, and resources that promote a lifelong love of learning.

that was rather predictable, i'd say: animals, babies, and books.
