chicago/minnesota football game, doug's launch radio

w00+! the saints won. the family got DSL, so doug's letting me use his laptop at the desk next to the PC he's on. he's afraid of my negative effect on electronics, and mom asked, "you're letting her use that?"
"parental supervision."

he gave me the digital camera, and it's just like layla's, with the flip screen so you can take pictures of yourself and stuff. it's got neat features, like "solarize," black and white, brown and white, and negative. i really like solarize. i made a list of pictures to take on my highway 31 route, so i'll be stopping on my way home to take them.

nana and papaw gave me $100, and uncle ray gave me $50. that'll help considerably, considering that i won't be in austin to turn in my timesheet tomorrow. grr. i meant to leave it there friday night. i got a care bears cake. (:

the AC adapter for my camera, maggie had chewed off the part that plugs into the camera. doug and i looked at circuit city and best buy, and then papaw and i went to radio shack. i called radio shack, and one "chris" answered:
"i need an AC adaptor for my digital camera, and i was wondering if you have it."
"yes, i do, and they run about $30."
"no, best buy said they had it, and they don't. i need to know if you have mine."
"what kind is it?"
"sony cyber-shot, AC L-10 adaptor."
"oh, we dont have that specific one. you can bring it down here, though."

thanks, chris, for nothing. "i've never even seen a plug like that!" bah. papaw and i went and got a soldering iron, and after papaw cut away the plastic around the wires and we figured out with ones went together, he reattached them and lo! it works. i told him i want to get a wire and plug my brain into his. he laughed and said, "well, you just gotta figure out what you wont [sic] done, and then figure out a way to do it."

at circuit city, i recognized one of the guys working, noah dunn. as he was checking me out (encino man, $6.99) and i gave him my phone number, he asked, "y'all are from austin?" i explained i went to school here then left quickly as possible. "where'd you go to school?"
"longview. i remember you. i never hung out with you, but i knew who you were."
"when'd you graduate?"
"2001."
"yeah i graduated in 2000."

he was some hotness back then, but now, seeing him still in longview and just working at circuit city, i don't know. it just seems sort of sad that one would stay here; he's not so attractive anymore. i told doug, "i've just matured."
"yeah, 20 going on 15. why exactly do you need a nintendo 64?"

sucks to longview's assmar. i actually saw a bilboard that said to vote "yes" for proposition 12. :gags: this place and 99% of its inhabitants are so wretched. i didn't get to vote because i woke up so late saturday (and also missed an hour of new yu-gi-oh :growls:). i feel so guilty; living in austin makes me forget texas is a republican state. :(

oh! the chick who works overnight fridays and saturdays at the garages hired me as her editor. she's a graduate student, and her interest is fat people in society. her first paper? about fat porn, whether it actually acknowledges their sexuality or is making a specticle of it. quoth i, "that sounds fascinating." i mean, come on, i get to watch porn to have a better understanding of her paper. she wants to pay me, so i'll have to come up with a price. any suggestions?

the electric company says i owe them $28 i've already paid, so i'll bitch to them when i get back.

i got to see michael friday when i got off work. yay. :) he makes 12 on my list of people to invite to my birthday gathering. i love michael.

just a day and a half left in this soul-sucking void. i feel so awkward going out in public here.

<3, chels.
