hrm. well, let's see. i hate going so long without updating; i just forget everything. friday morning jennifer and i went to get her check around 9:00, and i stopped by this place to get layla's presents. she's going to like them, i think at least. after that, whilst in toys r us, i got sarah operation. we got home around 10:15, and i called cat. an hour late, but nonetheless a phone call was placed. we went and got him and ate a chile's. the group was so mutli-cultural: white, black, hispanic. it always seems to be like that with us, though. carmen and davey are hispanic, layla's persian, just the combinations are always mixed up. we're so well-balanced.

after that we went to the megaplex, which for some reason cat had never been to (he's a perv, so i think he should have ;P). then we went to dreamer's cause their stuff is always cheaper. i bought jennifer this porn on dvd and three magazines for xmas. i got a little tin keychain with the happy bunny on it that says, "hi. eat me."

at work, i worked for an hour then took another hour to close the garage. that was cool. i harassed cat further afterward, til around 11:00 when he ditched me for the elysium. hehe.

saturday morning i woke up at 10:30 and didn't get home til 11:00 that night. i went shopping and got great presents for mom and nana. my favorites are the ones for my mom. i got these great tea cup and saucer sets that totalled $57. one is from the 19th century, and it was marked $58. as i was debating between that one and another 19th century set, the woman working came up and told me if i wanted to see anything else, she could show me some she didn't have displayed. she took me to a cabinet full of cup and saucer sets and showed me one with a cracked cup. the crack is only a hairline; it's really nearly invisible. it's from turn of the century france (19th-20th c. that is), and because of the crack it was only $10. as soon as she said that i agreed to buy it. she gave me a 20% discount off the $58 set, which brought it down to $43. as she was running my atm card, a guy in his 20s walked up. he was really cute in black slacks, a black sweater, and wire-rimmed glasses. he looked at what i had bought and started telling me about them. i heard him say to another man who came up that he was the manager of that particular section.

when i left, i went to all the stores i love on s. congress, terra toys and all those antique shops, etc. i bought a hello kitty purse from terra toys, the one with the bumble bee on it. i've wanted it for months and finally broke and bought it. it was $23. =/ i went through all the stores but couldn't find something right. i went into gossip and got this great jasmine hand lotion for nana that cost $23. it smells so good, and she always has hand lotion, has for years; her hands are so incredibly soft. i know she'll love it.

i went home and watched most of trainspotting and ate a bit. then at three i got my car inspected, picked up jennifer from work at four. we bought a ticket to see lord of the rings at 6:30 and ate at macaroni grill before we went. lord of the rings was so good. it was mostly just fighting, but those scenes were done great. there's one where everyone just collides; it's fabulous.

when we got home there were 14 messages on the machine; jenn and i were thoroughly confused. there were six saved, but still, we usually have no new ones, much less eight. there was one from cat, one from layla, and six from my family. they were freaking out cause i said i was coming home that day and wasn't there yet. i had to call mom and tell her she was being a freak and that i was coming home the next day instead, and that i would in fact call before i left.

later that night cat called, and after picking up from downtown i went to his house and ended up falling asleep. we went to ihop sunday afternoon, and he came over and watched fight club. i put him to use in loading my car before i left, and around 7:30 p.m. i set out for longview.

outside of one of those shit towns that 31 goes through, a cop pulled me over. he was following me for a while with his lights on, but he was so damned far behind me i didn't think he was after me. when i pulled over, he said, "evening miss, could i see your lisence and registration? and why'd it take so long for you to pull over?"
"i didn't know if you were after me or just going."
"is there any reason you're pulling 86 in a 65 miles per hour zone?"
":shrugged: no, i'm just going home."
"where are you coming from?"
"austin."
he went to his car and did whatever, and the entire time i'm thinking about how mom and doug are going to take me off of their insurance, i'm going to have to get another job to pay for mine, etc. he comes back and gives me a written warning, though, and i blandly stated, "ok, thanks." my head was still reeling and i couldn't be more appreciative than that. needless to say, i didn't go above five mph over the speed limit for the rest of the way home.

when i got home, i talked to my mom for about an hour. i love my mom so much; she's so cool. all my family is. we're all such dorks. you should seriously see all the toys and stuff in my house. i think i'm going to take pictures before i leave. after all, doug's the store director of the toys r us here. anyway, i didn't get up til 3:30 this afternoon because it was storming; for some reason, it's just impossible for me to be awake when it rains. when i got up, i started cooking pizzas for my sister and me. mom got home soon after and told me to put pants on because "males are coming home."
"plural? did you get another one?"
"yeah, forgot to tell you."

i continued to walk around and talk sans pants for a little while, then doug got home. i told him what mom said, and he agreed. i don't understand why i can't not wear pants around here; i never wear pants in my apartment, even around jennifer. cat said it was weird around doug because he's my dad, but that's why i think it's not weird. i don't know, i just think you should feel damned special if i can do something like that around you, especially considering how much i nauseate myself.

mom and i went to the mall, the sprint store, and sam's today. at the sprint store, she explained to the guy working (around my age, not too much older) how i drowned the phone in root beer and needed the service switched. he was making jokes about it while he was fixing up the new phone. he finally said that it'd cost $35, which completely shocked me. i asked mom, "so you're paying for this right?"
"it's your phone. i pay for your service!"
i put my atm card on the counter and said i just wouldn't pay the electric bill next month. he went to the back of the store, and when he returned he handed me my phone and said, "you're all set. merry christmas."
"wait, do i not have to pay?"
:puts his finger to his lips:
"oh my god! you just paid my bills!"
he laughed and again wished us a merry christmas, which mom reciprocated. it was so incredibly nice.

i love being home because everyone's so funny and relaxed here. earlier mom was talking about how her face was red because she was getting a hot flash. doug was like, "ew!" but clarified it was just at her face, not the redness. tomorrow nana, papaw, and grandma dorothy (doug's mom) are coming, and i'm excited.

crazy taxi is cool. i may steal it from home. hmm. :plots: (: i've decided i'm spending $30 of my xmas money on nintendo games. i'll just have to get sarah to go with me to make sure jonathan's not working. ;)

<3, chels.
