why did the green goblin have to be known as the green goblin? why not the emerald elf?

"sometimes wanna die," joydrop

today was so great. gee. last night i baked a cake for jenn and carmen, and then this morning at 10:30 jenn woke me up so i could ice it and she could decorate it. she wrote "happy b-day girls" and put star dots of blue icing from the can on it. i went back to sleep til 1:00, when jenn and carmen both threatened me so i would get up. patrick also assaulted me with pico at one point, "bird slapped" me as he put it.

we went to chuck e. cheese's! aah! it was a real party: me, layla, carmen, patrick, jenn, john, davey, bryan and leo. as with everything, at first i was just like, eh.. but then i started playing games, and it was better (even though i got ripped off...bastards). when it was time for the cake, jennifer started singing "happy birthday" super loud, in her burger king crown no less, and drowned out the rest who were singing (i was too busy laughing). she went up to chuck e. to get a hug, and bryan says, "she looks like a big retarded kid." we all burst into laughter and agreement. ;) it was so funny when a chick called out the birthdays:
"[name] is turning six, [name] is turning four, and [name] is turning seven."
carmen, yelling: "and carmen and jennifer are turning 19!"
"and carmen and jennifer are :pause: 19."

haha. it was great. jennifer, layla, john and i went climbing through the suspended tunnels, wherein one boy asked me, "are you a mother?" lol. layla and i got into the ball pit and got our asses kicked by this one little boy. john was in there for a moment, buried beneath the balls. when the boy who beat us with the balls first got in, we were all like, "jump there!" and pointed to where john was hiding. it was beautiful, vicarious vengance. with my tickets (that were mostly won by layla and me playing a game for very young children) i bought a little notepad with marvin the martian on it, a superman sticker for jonathan, and a key chain that says chuck.e. there was a little girl about four wanting to play air hockey with bryan, so while he played with leo i took her and gave her a superman tattoo so she wouldn't get slammed in the face with the puck (it was flying off the table at times). that place may be diseased with happiness, but it's a happiness i enjoy getting lost in. like when i would go to burger king with sarah and get into the ball pit. if there were other kids, we'd get on teams and fight against each other. if it were just the two of us, we lay half-buried and throwing balls into the hole in the mesh ceiling. children are my ground to sanity; they keep me tethered to the unreal world. i can't wait til i get home, get bored, and ask sarah if she wants to go get a snow cone or go to burger king.

after that, layla and i came home and watched a french movie, the love affair. i love being able to read the subtitle, "not in public," and hear the guy actually say, "not in a caf around everyone." it makes me feel so smart for knowing so little. i'm very excited about taking french next semester.

layla and i decided to go to the mall, but right before we left my dad called. he emailed me and told me he was going to, but it took me off-guard. i just talked to him normally, trying to ignore the fact that he's my dad. for now i'll just pretend he's a friend, like ben was. except i won't have sex with him. =/ eww. lol.

at the mall i bought a hoodie (!) and a pretty pair of socks (they were on sale). lane bryant, though expensive, is now my heaven. i won't be able to shop there, but knowing it exists is wonderful. the majority of the stuff i looked at was actually too big for me, and i didn't see a bra cup smaller than C. :builds a lane bryant shrine: i could go into how i bitched about american eagle sizes being, frankly, fucking stupid, but i'm sure we all know how i feel about that.

on the way home, we stopped at hyde park bar and grille. it was really fun to hang out with layla again. when i got home, i called jenn to see if i could come get my stuff i left there last night. she went outside when i left, we started talking, so i ended up sitting out there with her talking for two hours. carmen and patrick got back from spiderman, and we went to kerbey lane. carmen dared jenn to go as she was: bandana, t-shirt, jogging pants one leg up to the knee, rainbow toe socks that say "alaska" right below the knee, and flip-flops. it was hilarious. we get there, and of course lex luthor is our waitor. he probably thinks we're certifiably insane. i really like patrick; he's so incredibly funny. oh! and carmen told me jesus's name! naturally, i looked it up as soon as i got home:
matthew benjamin day
senior, philosophy
[email protected]
495-5578
325 andrews
that's so crazy he's a senior! i knew he couldn't be a freshman, though. jenn didn't want to know his real name, but then she said, "it's probably something like matthew."
"yes!!"
"noooo!!!!"
"his last name's day!"
"aahhhh!"
haha. and we think lex luthor's name is harris; that's what was on the receipt. ;)

well, i suppose i'll be going now. i have four papers due on monday at 5:00 p.m. ha! but on friday i get to see blink, green day, jimmy eat world and saves the day! aah! :runs around like a maniac: this has been a great start for this sunday. :) and i get to see spiderman later! wee!
