also, several decades ago, i was perusing urban outfitter's website and found some cool stuff in their home furnishings. i showed them to owen and freaked out over them but, as i always do, forgot about them soon thereafter. then! i got these:
score! i'm thoroughly obsessed with alice; i've got several ollld illustrated copies of those books. now i've really arrived, too, because i have a 9" heavy dish that i will never actually put food on. i'm also obsessed with the 70s (as evidenced by my awesome mushroom curtains), so a birdie lamp shade in the most perfect color scheme just make me weep with happiness.
now it's time to find a base, and i think i'm going with this one from ikea:
target had a more elaborate one, but with such a busy shade a simplistic base is fine with me.
the last time we went to ikea, we needed something that costs $13. we left after spending $600. today our purchases will total $100 (lamp + chair). i'm scared. :/
