the emperor's new groove
i almost murdered a man about three and a half hours ago. seriously. my sister sarah, eight, and i went to see harry potter and the chamber of secrets because i'm a big nerd and wanted to see it again. we were standing in line for popcorn, and she was kicking her legs as she spoke. this guy, mind you in his late 30s/early 40s, turned to her and began sardonically saying, "thank you. thank you for kicking me."
finally i asked bitingly, "what are you talking about?"
"she kicked me."
":pokes sarah: watch what you're doing, nerd."
":continues complaining:"
"chill out, she's a kid; she's not paying attention to what she'd doing."
"are you related to her?"
"yes, i'm her sister."
"well thank you for telling her she can kick me."
at this point sarah buries her face in my side and starts crying. i told her, "don't worry, baby, some people are just :turns to man: assholes. you can kick him again. ooh! i'll kick him too!" he glared and walked away. once she stopped crying, i said, "see why i moved? cause everyone here :turns to girls behind her, to whom the man was speaking: sucks."
i swear, 15 minutes in public and already i want to burn this city down. i feel physically awkward even being here. there were three guys (my age no less) working at my mom's store who kept eyeing me curiously. "these things here :points: are piercings! baffling, no? and i live in an establishment called a 'city.'" it was so hard not to yell at them. god, i can't believe i actually survived this living, breathing, soul-sucking hell-hole for seven years. i don't know if i can for the next three days. i saw john walker, though, at the theatre, and he said to give him a call. maybe i can actually :gasp: socialize!
it's really hard not to go to jonathan's, but i know if i do i'll just yell, call him several explatives, and give myself a heart attack. thusly, i shall contact derek alone tomorrow. i just hope the two of them don't show up together, as they have a tendency to do.
